At Textile Engineering College, Noakhali (TECN), the Hult Prize will be presented for the second time, and in particular, for the first time on-campus following the pandemic.
The Hult Prize is a forum for youthful, creative minds to collaborate and bring about constructive change in the world, not just any competition. Each year, students are tasked with creating enterprises that not only address urgent social issues but also have the potential to turn a profit. This is an annual social entrepreneurship competition.
The inaugural “Hult Prize” was conducted in 2021 at the Textile Engineering College in Noakhali using Zoom, an online meeting tool. That year, “Food for Good” was the theme.TECN’s Hult Prize team needed to learn how to work as a new entry, so they held a Zoom workshop. With the guidance of our respected teachers, campus director, and Hult prize authority, the squad started to work on the team registration, and with a considerable response, 26 teams registered for the Hult prize on-campus round. The registration teams participated in a fascinating and challenging competition, and the teams’ performance was top-notch and impressive. In the end, “Team Banalec” emerged victorious.
TEAM Banalec’s champion team is composed of the following members:
- Omit Biswas
- Saikat Das Gupta
- Partha Das
- Mahin Ismam
TECN’s Hult Prize can now hold an on-campus round every year. It has been recognized as worthy enough to innovate, collaborate, and shape the world as a team. This year’s competition will be more advantageous due to the theme of ‘Unlimited.’ That means participants can pitch any idea if it is impactful and aligns with one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We believe that we will attain something more significant than what we have currently accomplished.
To make this program successful, an Organizing Committee of 23 members was formed to arrange the On-Campus final event offline. We are also blessed to have our respected Mentors as Advisory Board Members, who have already helped us more than enough throughout the journey till now—special thanks to Saef-A-Md.Sadman, Campus Director of Hult Prize, TECN, led the creation of positive social changes and is still working hard to make a better position for the campus and the Hult Prize at TECN.
